Three Things About You
- I always try to do the right thing.
- I am passionate and committed to my work.
- I treat people as I would like to be treated.
Where can we find you when you aren’t conducting investigations?
On the golf course!
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I have been thanked by many, many times in my career with people crediting me for providing them with closure regarding the cause of a fire or an explosion. Whether the answer is good or bad in their eyes, I can almost always see the relief. As everyone knows, it is impossible to give every person that answer. Giving absolute closure to everyone would be my superpower.

He is a NFPA 1033 Qualified Fire Investigator, as certified by the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications. He is a member of both the National Association of Fire Investigators and the International Association of Arson Investigators, both Kansas and Colorado chapters.

In 1999, Kent was named the Kansas Arson Investigator of the Year, as awarded by the Kansas chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. This award was presented to him in relation to him solving a large Church Fire that occurred in Wichita, Kansas.

Kent earned an Associate’s degree with emphasis in fire science from Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Friends University in Wichita.
